The Man...
I am just a regular guy who loves gaming. Video, tabletop, pen and paper, whatever. Gaming is one of my main loves. The other being my beautiful wife and our amazing son. I believe that all facets of our hobby should be accessible to EVERYONE, because at the end of the day, if a 12 year old kid LOVES playing Catan, while I may pity him for thinking it's a good game, what's important is that they're enjoying themselves.
The Myth...
The biggest thing I look for in a game is THEME. I acknowledge this may taint my opinions towards abstract games, but at the end of the day, pushing cubes around a board isn't going to make me feel like I'm ACTUALLY a Mediterranean Spice Merchant. If I'm going to play a game, I want to EXPERIENCE the game, and for me, that only comes with a strong theme.
The Meeple...
I approach all of my ratings in the simplest of terms:
Buy It! - Means that the game is great and worth the purchase. I think you'll love it!
Try It! - Means it could go either way. Usually that means that I like it, but I totally get why you wouldn't.
Fly It! - #^(& this game!
